Support Services

Our support services focus on both direct support and adaptive problem solving to remove barriers to workforce participation. These services follow a hierarchy of needs model starting with direct aid and transitioning into leadership development at the appropriate time.

Basic Needs

Workforce Development participants have a network of resources at through Corners Outreach to remove barriers that they face in the workforce. They have access to food assistance, transportation, healthcare, childcare, etc. We work with participants, one-on-one, to help them and strategize how to acquire the resources and the support they need. Additionally, these can also include income tax support, housing, clothing, holiday, immigration services and counseling.

Life Skills

Corners Workforce Academy is structured around facilitating participants’ relationships with career guides and trusted peer mentors. Using peer guides with cultural relatability, we coach participants on personal and community assets that lead to improved career outcomes.

Job Skills

Connecting with a Career Coach is a crucial part of planning for your economic future. Working with our team, these coaches help participants with career management, soft skills, networking, professional attitude, work ethic, and goal setting.

Educational Advancement

Whether your educational journey involves English as a Second Language (ESL), GED assistance, or vocational certification, we are working with community partners to identify and create low-cost and/or free certification training programs. Corners serves not only as the recruitment arm for a variety of these programs but also as trusted cultural advisors, serving as a liaison for enrolled participants and providing feedback from the community.
